Firefighters tell children not to play in storm drainage tunnel

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Scary moments for some parents in Point Loma after they thought their children were trapped in a storm drainage tunnel.

San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to the call around 3:30 Sunday near Whittier and Banning Streets.

Firefighters were able to talk with the three children who were inside the tunnel.

They were able to get safely out the other end of the tunnel. No one was hurt.

Firefighters say children should never play in storm drain pipes or tunnels because of the dangerous hazards inside.
