DEL MAR (CBS 8) - The designers and architects at this weekend's San Diego Spring Home/Garden Show at the Del Mar Fairgrounds know what they want.
"What we want is somebody to come and say, 'I want this in my yard,'" a vendor said.
That's why months of planning and days of hard labor have gone into putting the dazzling displays together.
"We try to use a lot of reclaimed lumber, try to give it a rustic look," a designer said.
Muted tones of stone and wood with vibrant splashes of color give these landscapes and gardens a warm and inviting glow. Some are ultra-modern, others exude a classic feel.
While you're winding your way through this array, you can get advice from the experts like award-winning designer Ryan Prange, whose "Outside the Box" won best in show.
"We took a lot of elements that were inside the home and brought them outside. We have a swinging daybed right there that's fully operational," he said.
And that, my friends, is calling living the dream.
