OCEANSIDE (CNS) - Two separate outages knocked out power to nearly 3,000 San Diego Gas and Electric customers in the Oceanside, Carlsbad and Camp Pendleton areas Sunday.
The first outage struck about 4:15 p.m. in and effected 1,097 SDG&E customers in northern Oceanside, San Luis Rey, Ocean Hills and southeast Camp Pendleton. The outage was caused by a suspected problem in the overhead electrical system, according to the utility.
Power was restored about 6:15 p.m., according to a spokeswoman for the utility.
The second outage was reported at 4:40 p.m. and 1,883 SDG&E customers in areas of Oceanside, the San Luis Rey and Ocean Hills areas and regions of Carlsbad and La Costa were without electricity, due to a suspected problem in the underground electrical system. Crews were working to make repairs and expected to have service restored by about 8:30 p.m., according to SDG&E.
