SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An investigation was under way Monday into the death of a man who was struck by a southbound Coaster train near Bay Park.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was struck around 2:35 p.m. Sunday in the vicinity of West Morena Boulevard and Tecolote Road, according to San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Mike Munsey. He died at the scene.

Munsey said the death appeared accidental, but an investigation was underway and an autopsy pending.
