BARRIO LOGAN (CBS 8) - A manhunt is underway for two men wanted for sexually assaulting a woman behind a dumpster near a Barrio Logan bus stop.

Police say the woman was getting off a bus near Sampson St. and Logan Ave. around 8:00 p.m. Monday when she was pushed to the ground. She told detectives the men covered her head with a blanket or jacket.

The rapists dragged the victim behind a nearby dumpster and both men sexually assaulted her. San Diego Police Lt. David Rohowits said that investigators do not believe a robbery motivated the attack, because the suspects left the woman's purse behind.

The victim told detectives that she was afraid for her life and just laid still after the attack, so she didn't see which way the suspects escaped and was unable to provide a description of the men.

Investigators say the victim was hysterical and screaming when she called 911 for help.

Police are working with MTS to determine whether the men were riding the bus with the victim or whether they targeted her after she got off the bus. Investigators are asking local businesses for any surveillance video that may have captured the crime on tape.

Police are also investigating the recent sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman near the Euclid Ave. trolley station. The woman told investigators she was waiting for the trolley when the man lured her to a secluded area and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. Police described him as a dark-skinned man, between 19 and 25, around 6 feet tall, last seen wearing baggy jeans and a long sleeve white shirt.

At this time, it is unclear if the attacks are connected.

Anyone with information in either case is asked to call San Diego Police.
