SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 48-year-old man was in custody Tuesday on suspicion of drunken driving after he backed his Corvette into a 72-year-old woman in North Park, breaking her leg, police said.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was arrested and booked into county jail Monday night on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, said San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The man was backing his Corvette into a parking spot under an apartment building in the 3800 block of Georgia Street when he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake around 6:30 p.m. Monday, striking the woman while she was at her storage unit, he said.

She suffered a broken leg, Delimitros said.
