Got milk?

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Wending his way through San Diego's most exclusive ZIP codes, Tony Garcia is a man on a mission.

"I've been in Rancho Santa Fe for about 25 years now," Tony said.

He knows the gate codes to some pretty pricey parcels.

"I have a good 45 customers up here on the ranch," he said.

And he has clearance behind North County's most guarded communities.

"I'm really the only milkman in North County," Tony said.

Tony no longer drives a "death coach," his name for the dairy trucks. Over the last quarter-century, the North County milkman has built up a lot of good faith.

"I literally go into the house. They are expecting me, I just announce my name, 'Tony with Alta Dena Dairy.' They know I'm coming in," he said. "I just open the refrigerator, see what they have, see what they need."

And along his route, Tony has made some great friends, like Paul and Judy Shivee.

"It's not so much the milk and the butter. It's the personal contact. It's trusting someone to come into your house," Judy said. "He's part of the family."

Other customers along Tony's regal route concur.

"It's just nice to have this cheery, smiley face when I see him," a customer said.

And after 25 years of walking through people's back doors in the early morning hours, he's seen it all.

"You're probably wondering have I ever walked in on ladies walking around with their pajamas on. The answer is I have," he said.

Cruising through the most costly calles and caminitos in the county, Tony Garcia delivers a time-honored service built on trust and tradition.
