ALPINE (CNS) - A 25-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening stab wounds to his arm and shoulder Saturday during a fight with another man at an Alpine hotel, sheriff's officials said.

Sheriff's deputies were called out to the Ayres Hotel in the 1200 block of Tavern Road just after 8 a.m., but the chain of events began earlier when the victim had met a woman at the Viejas Casino, according to sheriff's Lt. Jeff Maxin.

The two headed to the hotel and a short time later, the male suspect arrived and a fight ensued with the victim, Maxin said. During the fight, the victim was stabbed a couple times in his arm and shoulder, Maxin said.

The victim was taken to a hospital with wounds not believed to be life threatening, Maxin said.

The suspected assailant and the woman then drove off together in a white four-door Hyundai sedan, last seen headed west on Interstate 8, Maxin said.

The alleged assailant was described as a white man with tattoos on both arms who was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 200 pounds.
