Suspected robber arrested during traffic stop

FALLBROOK (CNS) - A 50-year-old man suspected of robbing a bank branch in Fallbrook three days ago was arrested Saturday at a traffic stop, sheriff's officials said.

The Bank of America branch at 1125 South Main St. allegedly was robbed Wednesday by a man who handed a demand note to a teller that stated the suspect had enough explosives inside his vehicle to blow up the bank, according to sheriff's Sgt. Patrick Yates. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash along with a dye pack, Yates said.

The suspect was later identified as 50-year-old Scott Moline, Yates said.

A FBI agent who had been in Encinitas Saturday searching for the suspect, spotted Moline driving toward Fallbrook, Yates said.

Deputies stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Old Highway 395 and Pala Road and Moline was taken into custody without incident, Yates said. A passenger in the vehicle was detained but later released, he said.

Yates said evidence possibly linked to the robbery was found in the vehicle. He said the FBI would handle the follow-up investigation related to the arrest.
