The Dish with Anita: Key lime pie

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - This Key lime pie is bright, refreshing and a perfect way to end a meal. This is a very simple recipe even if you don't bake. If you don't have fresh Key limes, the bottled version is a good substitute. Enjoy!



1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk

5 egg yolks

1/2 cup Key lime juice

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp Key lime zest (optional)

One Keebler prepared graham cracker crust

Baking sheet

Fresh sweetened whipped cream


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a mixing bowl, gently whisk egg yolks. Add sweetened condensed milk, vanilla and lime zest if using. Place pie crust on baking sheet and pour key lime filling into crust. Place in 375 degree preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes. Remove and let cool completely before placing in fridge to chill. Serve cold with dollops of fresh whipped cream.
