SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego County prosecutors say La Mesa police were justified in killing a man who aimed a shotgun at them.
U-T San Diego says a report by the district attorney's office concludes that the officers acted in self-defense.
Six officers confronted 35-year-old Andrew Yacko on a street last August.
The DA's report says the officers repeatedly told Yacko to drop the gun but instead he pumped it, then raised and pointed it at them.
All six officers opened fire and Yacko died at the scene. An autopsy showed he had a blood-alcohol level of .19 percent - more than twice the legal driving limit.
