SAN DIEGO (CNS) - One person was killed when a pickup veered off the right shoulder of Interstate 805 and overturned in the City Heights area early Thursday, authorities said.
The fatality along southbound Interstate 805, just south of University Avenue, was reported at 7:09 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
About 20 gallons of diesel spilled into a storm drain as a result of the crash but the fuel was contained to the area, the CHP reported on its website.
The right lane of southbound I-805 in the area was closed following the accident. It was not immediately known when it would reopen.
