4 people injured after rollover accident on Kearny Villa Rd

MIRAMAR (CBS 8) - Kearny Villa Road is back open in the Miramar area after four people are hurt in a horrific rollover accident Friday.

It happened just before 4 a.m., south of Miramar Road.

The driver of a Honda reportedly over corrected on a curve and hit a center divider. Police say the car flipped about ten times.

"Think of yourself, think of your family. Look at this wreck here. You know you could walk away or you could die or you could hurt somebody and the rest of your life will be destroyed for a little bit of alcohol or talking on the cell phone is not worth it," John Hendricks of the San Diego Police Department said.

Police say the driver was not under the influence, but the passengers may have been drunk.

All four were taken to local hospitals, including one male passenger who suffered serious hand and face injuries.

SAN DIEGO (CNS/CBS 8) - Alcohol may be to blame for a rollover car crash in the Miramar area that sent four people to hospitals early Friday, police said.

The crash near Kearny Villa and Miramar roads was reported at 3:45 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.

The driver of a 2008 Honda headed north on Kearny Villa Road, with three passengers onboard, overcorrected on a curve and struck a center divider, Cali said in a statement. The car then overturned several times, he said.

All four occupants were taken to local hospitals, including one male passenger who suffered serious hand and face injuries, according to Cali.

"Alcohol may be involved," the officer said.
