KEARNY MESA (CNS) - A 49-year-old supervisor at a mental health center for children was in jail Saturday for suspicion of 25 sex charges related to child molestation, according to jail records.

Kettrell Berry was booked into San Diego Central Jail about 7:15 p.m. Friday for suspicion of 25 mostly felony counts.

Berry was a supervisor at the San Diego Center for Children for nine years before he was fired April 19, U-T San Diego reported. David McCaslin, the center's chief executive officer, told UT San Diego the charges appeared to concern contact Berry had with one female student.

Jail records said Berry is charged with oral copulation with a person under 16; unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor at least three years younger; penetration by foreign object on a person under 16; and lewd and lascivious acts involving a victim 14 or 15 years of age, according to jail records.

He was held in lieu of more than $1.12 million in bail and was scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, jail records stated.

San Diego Center for Children is a non-profit organization that provides mental health, social and educational services to children and families. It provides services for children who face behavioral, social, emotional and educational challenges, according to the organization's website.

It also operates a kindergarten-through-12th grade school on Kearny Mesa.
