Ways to Make Quick Cash: Resell designer duds to make easy money

Posted: Updated:

Consignment shops are an easy way to make money off your gently used clothes. But what if you don't have anything worth selling at home?  Here's how to score dirt-cheap designer buys, then turn them around to make some quick cash.

Stacey Ross, of SanDiegoBargainMama.com says keeping your eyes peeled for deals is the key. When she's in the neighborhood of a local Goodwill Store, she'll go in and look for designer jeans and purses. Anything she knows is worth more than the few bucks she'll pay, and can easily be sold at a consignment store.

Stacey takes a lot of her items to Double Take, a women's consignment shop in Carlsbad. She opts for quick cash, which pays about 20-percent of what the store thinks they'll be able to sell the item for. Expect to get 30% if you take an in-store credit, and 40% if you consign, meaning you wait for the store to actually sell your item.

Depending on how good a deal you score on your discount designer purchases, you can start raking in cash at consignment stores pretty quickly.
