SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A young man was stabbed in the abdomen while being attacked by four men in Hillcrest early Thursday, police said.
The stabbing in the 1200 block of Cleveland Avenue was reported at 2:05 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.
Four men in a dark sedan drove up to the victim while he was walking with a woman and another man, Stafford said in a statement.
All four got into a physical fight with the victim, who is in his early 20s, he said. The motive for the fight was under investigation.
At some point during the fight, one of the men from the car stabbed the victim in his abdomen, according to Stafford, who said paramedics took him to a local trauma center.
