Youth Day of Service along the San Diego River

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of volunteers are getting their hands dirty, for the second annual Youth Day of Service.

The San Diego River Park Foundation partnered with SDG&E on a clean-up project Saturday morning at the Mission Valley Preserve.

SDG&E employees and their families painted railings, cleared away brush, and marked pathways with rocks.

The Mission Valley Preserve is just one of many parks along the San Diego River.

There were eight clean up projects Saturday throughout the county.
