Rubio's exec remembered as athlete, mother and friend

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - More than 100 people attended a vigil Friday in honor of a local woman killed in a violent wreck.

Melissa Houston just left the kickoff event for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's team in training when her minivan plowed into the back of a semi on the state Route 163 Thursday night.

Houston was going to coach that team and many are calling her an inspiration.

The 40-year-old woman was the mother of two, and an executive at Rubios.

News 8's Marcella Lee files this video report with how Houston left a lasting impression on all those around her.
