SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – 1,600 teaching jobs are on the chopping block when the San Diego Unified Board meets Tuesday night.
School board members are scheduled to vote to issue final layoff notices to teachers, counselors, librarians, and nurses. Teachers, parents, and students are protesting Tuesday.
A rally is planned for 4:30 p.m. at San Diego Unified Headquarters in University Heights.
San Diego Unified is facing a $120 million deficit.
