SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 45-year-old man was shot in the thigh during an altercation with another man that broke out after he tried to talk to the man's girlfriend while walking in Bay Terraces, San Diego police said Monday.
The victim was following the couple as they walked westbound in the 3000 block of Alta View Drive, near South Woodman Street, about 9:40 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The victim tried to talk to the man's girlfriend and an altercation between the two men ensued, Delimitros said. The suspect drew a handgun and allegedly shot the victim once in the thigh, Delimitros said.
The victim's wound was not believed to be life-threatening, Delimitros said.
The suspect was described as a black man in his 30s who was wearing a yellow shirt.
