SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 30-year-old man was jailed Thursday on suspicion of jumping a young woman on a Pacific Beach roadside and groping her.
Eros Alejandro Dominguez allegedly grabbed the 22-year-old pedestrian from behind in the 4500 block of Everts Street shortly before 11 p.m. Wednesday and fondled her breasts before she was able to fight him off, according to San Diego police.
The assailant then ran off to the south, SDPD Lt. David Rohowits said. Officers gave the man's description to employees of businesses along nearby Garnet Avenue, and several hours later, police got a report that a man matching the groper's description was in the 1000 block of Hornblend Street, the lieutenant said.
Patrol personnel found Dominguez in that area, arrested him and took him to county jail, where he was booked early this morning on suspicion of misdemeanor sexual battery.
The suspect was being held on $10,000 bail pending arraignment, tentatively scheduled for Monday morning.
