SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Our hometown hero Snigdha Nandipati, winner of this year's Scripps National Spelling Bee, was a guest Monday morning on "Live with Kelly Ripa."
Snigdha says she likes math more than spelling.
Snigdha said to prepare for the spelling be she learned thousands of words every day. She showed off her spelling skills in a contest against Kelly and Bryant Gumbel.
Snigdha is only the second student from Southern California to win the Scripps spelling bee. The other winner came from Poway in 2005.
