SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The parking lot at Lindbergh Field where people wait for arriving passengers has been moved to a new location that offers nearly double the parking spaces, the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority announced Wednesday.
What the airport calls the cell phone waiting lot used to have 50 spaces on N. Harbor Drive, near Laurel Street.
The lot is now closer to the Commuter Terminal and has 97 spaces, according to the airport. The lot can be accessed at the traffic signal for the rental car return facility.
Airport officials said the free lots have become popular, especially during peak hours.
Also, the airport announced that the SAN Park location on N. Harbor Drive will be temporarily relocated on Thursday to an area north of its present facility so its lot can be repaved.
