Firefighters make quick work of Miramar fire

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Firefighters made quick work Wednesday of a brush fire in the Miramar area.

It broke out about 2:45 p.m. just north of state Route 52 and east of Interstate 15.

Both San Diego firefighters and MCAS Miramar firefighters responded on the gorund, and a helicopter dropped water from above. There was a lot of smoke, but just three acres burned and no structures were threatened.

Wednesday's fire comes on the heels of three East County brush fires in the past few days. While those fires put many on edge, a move by President Obama could help ease those fears.

In this News 8 video story, Shawn Styles has more on what that could mean for local firefighters.
