SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego police released a photo Thursday they hope will help them find a man accused of meeting women online for romantic relationships only to disappear after defrauding them of tens of thousands of dollars.
Fadi Boulos Chaiban, 49, has allegedly defrauded at least two women of around $169,000, police said.
According to police, he met the women on social websites, dated them and promised a future together, then convinced them to give him money for investments.
"He never makes any investments and is not heard from again," a police bulletin read.
Chaiban also goes by the names Eddie Morretti, Anthony Paul Marino and Eddie Baker, police said.
Anyone who has been involved in a relationship or investment with Chaiban was urged to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477. Tips leading to an arrest may be worth $1,000.
