RAMONA (CNS) - Two juveniles and two adults were arrested Saturday in connection with a series of daring residential burglaries conducted while victims slept in Ramona and the San Diego Country Estates, sheriff's officials said.
The arrests may have found the perpetrators of a string of about a dozen overnight burglaries in the Ramona and San Diego County Estates areas starting in January and ending with three burglaries the night of June 6, sheriff's deputies said. The crimes took place while the residents slept.
The suspects entered the residents through unlocked doors, windows and garage doors and allegedly took small, easy to carry items like wallets, iPads, jewelry and purses, the release stated.
Sheriff's deputies served four simultaneous search warrants at various locations in the Ramona area about 7 a.m. today, according to sheriff's Sgt. Brent Strahm.
Numerous reported stolen items and other evidence was recovered. Garrett Jackson, 18 and 19-year-old Skylar McGee were arrested along with two juveniles, all of Ramona, were arrested in connection with the burglary series, Strahm said.
Two others, 52-year-old Bartt Coates and Kevin Murphy, 25, of Ramona were also arrested for suspicion of unrelated charges, Strahm said. Detectives would contact victims as evidence becomes available for release, sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton said.
