LINCOLN ACRES (CNS) - Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the fatal stabbings of a husband and wife at a home in Lincoln Acres in south San Diego County.

The wife called 911 about 8:10 p.m. Monday, saying she and her husband had been stabbed in the 2900 block of Alta Drive, according to San Diego County sheriff's homicide Lt. Larry Nesbit.

Deputies arrived and found the woman sitting in front of a house, covered in blood and unresponsive, Nesbit said in a statement. She was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where she died at 11:53 p.m., he said. Her husband was found dead inside the house.

Their names were withheld pending family notification.

"At this point, we have no suspect information," Nesbit said early Tuesday.

"A lot of neighbors heard lots of screaming," neighbor Lita Ramirez told a local news station. "We just got home from going out to eat. My husband jumped over to the (victims') house, and (another) neighbor did too, and they were just trying to see if they could help, but the paramedics were already there. And my husband said there was just blood everywhere."

Anyone with information about the stabbings was urged to call the sheriff's homicide detail at (858) 974-2321 or (858) 565-5200. Tipsters can also call San Diego County Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477.
