SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – East County residents can show their patriotism and enjoy Independence day at a variety of parades, festivals and firework displays around the area:
Crown Hills 4th of July Parade
Location: Victoria Terrace and Gentian Way
Be a spectator or walk in the 15th Annual Crown Hills 4th of July Parade. Horses, floats, cars, motorcycles, scout troops, dancers and more are expected to appear. Covered seating is available at Larkspur and Star Thistle.
4th of July Celebration
Location: Kennedy Park
12 – 9 pm
Enjoy the day at Kennedy Park, beginning with a picnic at noon. Food and beverages will be on sale. The evening will conclude with a fireworks display at 9 pm.
Julian 4th of July Parade
Location: Main Street to Washington Street
Before the parade begins, watch for musical performances, aircraft flyovers and a drawing for a ride on a vintage aircraft. The parade moves from Main Street to Washington Street, starting at noon. After, join the fun on Main Street with a BBQ, entertainment and quilt show.
Location: Town Center Community Park West
3:30 – 9:30 pm
Santee Salutes features entertainment from the Danielle Tucker Band, the Mighty Untouchables and performers from Singing Solo. The Kids Zone includes carnival rides, games and inflatable jumpers for a minimal cost. A shuttle will run between Costco, the City of Santee Aquatics Center/Cameron Family YMCA and the event from 3:15 – 10 pm. A fireworks display begins at 9 pm.
