RAMONA (CNS) - A 7-month-old girl suffered what are expected to be fatal injuries at a home in Ramona, and someone who was at the residence at the time is being questioned, authorities said Thursday.
Deputies and firefighters were called to the residence in the 2600 block of Southern Oak Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, said San Diego County sheriff's Lt. Larry Nesbit.
The injured child was flown to Rady Children's Hospital but was not expected to survive, the lieutenant said in a statement.
The Sheriff's Department's child abuse and homicide units were investigating the case, Nesbit said, adding that a male inside the residence at the time of the injury was being questioned.
No other details were immediately released.
