EL CAJON (CNS) - A man accused in the shooting death of another man in Spring Valley and a home-invasion robbery two weeks earlier in Clairemont pleaded not guilty Thursday to murder and assault charges.
Arren William Dangler, 29, was ordered held on $5 million bail.
The defendant -- who was arrested Saturday in downtown San Diego -- was named in a warrant regarding a May 30 home-invasion robbery on Raffee Drive.
The victim in that case was robbed by two men who answered a craigslist ad for a computer, taking cash and the victim's BMW, authorities said.
Dangler is also suspected in the shooting death of 29-year-old Brian Keith Hammett, who was found fatally shot about 12:30 a.m. on June 15 in a driveway in the 8700 block of Troy Street, according to sheriff's deputies.
The defendant faces 43 years to life in prison if convicted.
A readiness conference is set for Aug. 15 and a preliminary hearing for Aug. 28.
