SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A 16-inch water main has broken within the perimeter of Lindbergh Field and is causing traffic issues around the airport. Lindbergh Airport Operations says the break was reported around 3:00 pm Saturday. The flooding is not affecting landings or take-offs.
The water flow/spill is planned to be shut off right around 7pm Saturday night. Repairs may take until late Sunday morning to fix. Workers expect to re-open the street intersections by the airport as soon as possible.
Meanwhile the airport has set up a temporary shuttle service for pedestrian passengers at Laurel & Pacific Hwy.
