SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Federal agents took a married couple into custody and seized about 650 marijuana plants Tuesday during searches of homes in Bay Park and the Rolando area, authorities reported.

Members of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's Narcotics Task Force arrested April Lynn Currier, 30, and her 32-year-old husband, Tiran, about 7 a.m. at a residence in the 2900 block of McGraw Street, just east of Mission Bay Park, DEA spokeswoman Amy Roderick said.

Simultaneously, agents were confiscating more cannabis plants being cultivated at a house in the 6200 block of Estelle Street, near College Avenue. Officials did not immediately disclose what connection, if any, the Curriers were believed to have with that indoor grow operation.

The suspects were booked into county jail on suspicion of possession for sale and cultivation of marijuana, interfering with power lines and other charges. They were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon.
