Power restored to residents in central San Diego

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – SDG&E crews have restored power to parts of central San Diego Friday.

The affected areas included: Old Town, Mission Hills, Hillcrest, University Heights, North Park and Normal Heights.

The power went out Friday around 2:06 p.m., but was restored around 4 p.m.

As of this report, slightly more than 4,400 customers were without power.

The cause is a suspected problem in the overhead electrical system.
