VISTA (CNS) - A man who cultivated more than $200,000 worth of marijuana plants near his Bonsall home pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of marijuana for sale.
John Alan Paul, 43, will be sentenced to 16 months in prison -- which will be served in local custody -- at a hearing Sept. 25 at the Vista Courthouse.
Paul was on probation for possession of methamphetamine when he was arrested Aug. 2.
Deputies conducting a surprise search -- which they were able to do without a warrant because of Paul's probation status -- discovered the marijuana plants adjacent to Paul's house, according to sheriff's Sgt. Patrick Yates.
