Quadriplegic teen reunited with surf dog Ricochet

San Diego (CBS 8) - A heartfelt reunion was seen in Encinitas Sunday as a 17-year-old quadriplegic surfer crossed paths again with the surfing service dog that gave him the strength and courage to make all his dreams come true.

Patrick Ivison suffered a spinal cord injury when he was hit by a car when he was 14 months old.

Three years ago, Patrick met Ricochet the surf dog.

Not only did Ricochet and her owner raise money for Patrick's physical therapy, but the dog gave Patrick a new lease on life.
