VISTA, Calif. (AP) - A 71-year-old truck driver has been sentenced to
three years in prison for molesting a mentally disabled 14-year-old
girl in San Diego County.
The North County Times
says Christopher Darling of Arizona was sentenced Tuesday and must
register as a sex offender. He pleaded guilty to committing a lewd act
with a child.
The Arizona trucker occasionally stayed with the family of a San Marcos girl who has the mental capacity of a kindergartener.
Prosecutors say in January, he was caught molesting the girl in the family's bathroom.
Darling fled but was arrested in Washington state four months later.
