OCEAN BEACH (CNS) - San Diego police Saturday were seeking a man who attempted to sexually assault a woman walking home from an early-morning party in Ocean Beach.

The incident occurred about 2:10 a.m. in the 5000 block of Muir Ave. in Ocean Beach, San Diego police said.

During the attempt the male was somehow frightened and fled. The woman was transported to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

She was unable to provide a suspect description, but the man's name is not known.

Detectives from the Sex Crimes Unit responded and are investigating the case. They asked anyone with information to call the Sex Crimes Unit at (619) 531-2210.
