Hundreds of kindergartners receive free backpacks, school supplies

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Some very lucky kindergartners will get a little help starting off the school year.

Chase employee volunteers and partners from World Vision handed out backpacks filled with school supplies to every kindergarten student at 10 elementary schools in City Heights.

The supplies included a note of encouragement to the child from the person who packed the backpack.

Teachers at the school also received a special gift.
