LAKESIDE (CNS) - Fire officials Sunday were investigating the cause of a fire Saturday afternoon at a business near Santee Drive-In.

"A call came in at 12:48 p.m. at Specialty Metals at 11222 N. Woodside Ave.," said a Heartland Fire & Rescue dispatcher.

Passersby on Highway 67 reported black smoke coming from the area next to Santee Drive-In Theatre at 10990 N. Woodside Ave., the dispatcher said.

"When firefighters arrived, the fire was in a big pile of construction materials behind a locked gate at the business," the dispatcher said.

Three fire engines and a medical unit responded to the blaze, which was extinguished at 1:14 p.m.
