"Go Green for Education" turns trash into cash

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A local nonprofit has turned trash into cash for a Pacific Beach elementary school.

Go Green for Education presented a $500 check to Kate Sessions Elementary School on Tuesday. The organization operates a door-to-door recycling service.

All of the proceeds go to the local public elementary schools.

The program is only available in Pacific Beach right now, but organizers hope to expand it to other neighborhoods next year.
