SAN DIEGO (CNS) - One 19-year-old man was killed and a second was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Friday as they stood alongside a Webster-area freeway off-ramp.
The San Diego residents were outside a disabled vehicle next to the exit from northbound Interstate 805 to Home Avenue when a silver sedan veered off the connector road and hit them about 1:45 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported. The motorist then drove out of the area.
Paramedics took the victims to hospitals, where one died from his injuries. The other was receiving treatment for major trauma tonight, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Witnesses said the hit-and-run driver's vehicle, which lost a side-view mirror at the scene of the crash, appeared to be a Nissan Altima.
