SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego has won state approval to expand a program that offers companies incentives for moving into the area and creating jobs.
The San Diego regional enterprise zone will now reach into Kearny Mesa, Mira Mesa, Rancho Bernardo and eastern Chula Vista.
Companies that move into the area can claim payroll tax credits and incentives to purchase manufacturing equipment.
More than 900 companies have taken advantage of the program since it was created five years ago.
In that time, more than 30,000 local employees have been hired.
