Tribute for fallen Mission Hills High football player

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The San Marcos community came together to remember a Mission Hills High School football player who died on campus.

On May 17th, 18-year-old Anthony Vaeao was playing basketball during P.E. when he collapsed.

He later died from an abnormally enlarged heart.

Friday, Anthony's memory was honored before the Mission Hills football home opener against Rancho Bernardo.

Anthony's parents presented the community with a plaque thanking them for their support. The plaque will hang in Mission Hills High's front office.
