SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Office workers learned how to prepare for and prevent dangerous situations in the workplace at a seminar in La Jolla Tuesday.
Experts in emergency preparedness and workplace violence prevention led a panel discussion, which was hosted by the San Diego Building Owners and Managers Association.
Workers were taken through several scenarios and taught how to identify potential threats.
"It's not all terrorism. It is individuals who may have an issue that may find its way back into an individual building, and we want everybody to be as prepared as possible," said BOMA Chairman Joseph Donovan.
The workshop was prompted in part by the recent shootings in Aurora, Colorado and near the Empire State Building.
