Blackout lifted for Sunday's Chargers-Titans game

Watch Sunday's Chargers-Titans game starting at 1:00 p.m. on CBS 8.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The Chargers home opener against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday will be televised locally after all.

The Chargers had a couple thousand tickets to sell or risk a TV blackout in Southern California, per NFL policy. However, the league granted the team a 24-hour extension to sell the tickets.

The team announced Friday it has sold enough tickets to lift the blackout. Some general tickets returned by the opponent, along with some pricey club seats, are still available.

The Chargers plan to retire the No. 55 of deceased former linebacker Junior Seau in a pregame ceremony. Team helmets have been adorned with the number.

Seau died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in his Oceanside home on May 2.

The players will wear all-white uniforms at home for the first time ever, and are encouraging fans to wear white clothing, too.
