CARLSBAD (CBS 8) - Jenny Craig presented a check Monday to the Carlsbad Community Garden Collaborative to help promote healthy eating.
The donation of $9,200 is to help the collaborative and the Harold E. Smerdu Garden continue their efforts.
The collaborative has a shared goal with Jenny Craig of emphasizing the importance of including fruits and vegetables in your diet.
"We're really committed to changing lives and we know that the Carlsbad Community Garden is helping to do just that by incorporating a message of fresh fruits and vegetables and sharing how important it is," Jenny Craig Vice President of Operations Stephanie Hart said.
Each gardener was also given lady bugs, which act as a natural pesticide.
