Body of man found in surf along Oceanside beach

OCEANSIDE (CBS 8) - An autopsy will be performed Thursday on the body of a man who was found floating in the surf along the beach in Oceanside.

The discovery was made Wednesday around 11:15 p.m. by three Marines along Strand Way near Tyson Street.

The Marines pulled the man from the water and tried to revive him. However, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's name is withheld until his family is notified.

The medical examiner will now determine the cause of death.
