SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The National Association of Realtors says sales of previously owned homes jumped nearly eight percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of nearly five million units last month, which is the fastest annual rate since May 2010.

Nationwide, the median price for a home resale rose to more than $187,000 in August - up 9.5 percent from a year ago

In San Diego, homes have been selling all summer. In fact, local home sales have reached their highest level in six years.
