SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - More than 100 local surfers took to the water early Saturday to catch some waves and raise money for a local group helping young men in San Diego.
The third annual 100 Wave Challenge kicked off at Mission Beach.
The event benefits the Boys To Men organization, which provides at risk boys and teens with positive role models.
The group's co-founder says the young men are teamed up with adults who mentor them through junior high and high school.
Saturday's 100 Wave Challenge raised more than $100,000 for the organization that is active all over the nation and in seven other countries.
