Woman jumps from moving car when brakes fail

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A woman jumped from a moving car on the freeway Sunday after the brakes fail.

It happened around 11 p.m. on eastbound State Route 94 at Spring St. in Spring Valley.

The woman was reportedly driving about 45 miles per hour, when she opened the door and jumped out, skidding on the roadway and hitting a pole with her head.

The car hit a guardrail and stopped.

The woman was taken to a hospital with scrapes and bruises.

Her condition has not been released.
